Eleanor Roosevelt
Q: Is rhythmic
gymnastics only for girls?
A: Currently yes. There are
only a few rhythmic
programs for boys internationally.
Q: How does rhythmic
gymnastics differ from artistic gymnastics?
A: While
artistic gymnastics is often done on top of equipment,
rhythmic gymnastics is done solely on the floor with the
use of apparatus such as a ball, clubs, hoop, ribbon, or
rope. Instead of dangerous tumbling, rhythmic focuses on
flexibility, balances, leaps, and pivots.
Q: Is there an age limit? Is it too late or early to start
at my child’s age?
A: We work with students ages 2 -
16, at all levels.
Q: Can my daughter
try a class first?
A: Y es, we offer a
free trial class. Please visit “Get Started”.
Q: Can my daughter do rhythmic
gymnastics for fun and fitness or will she be required
to compete?
A: Most of our programs are
geared towards recreational participation because we
believe rhythmic gymnastics can be a rewarding
experience at all levels of involvement. We
encourage interested girls to explore the option of
competing if it appeals to them.
Q: How long are the
classes?
A: Classes can range from 1
hour for some recreational classes to 2.5 hours for team
workouts. Please check out our “programs” page for further
information.
Q: Is there a dress
code in the gym?
A: Yes. Please have
your gymnast wear a black leotard and her hair tied back
away from the face and neck.
Q: What does my
gymnast need to bring to class?
A: A bottle of water,
her rhythmic shoes
or equipment, and a smile and an enthusiastic
attitude
